SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PROGRAM
Would you like to spiritually adopt an unborn baby?
Every Day over 4,000 babies are killed by abortion. They have no protection, only the hand of God can end this massacre. Prayer is the best weapon to help them - the most effective weapon.
To help stop the anti-life push around the world, the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. One does this by praying that one particular but unknown child’s life will be spared from abortion and be allowed to continue to live. This program in no way takes the place of praying for ALL children, but makes it special for YOUR baby.
It was recommended we say the following prayer, written by Archbishop Sheen, every day for a period of nine (9) months for our spiritually adopted babies:
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of ______(baby’s name, you choose a name) the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.”
How does this work?
It is very simple. Participants pledge to pray for the nine months for a baby, using the prayer above.
While the child will remain unknown to his or her ‘spiritual parent’, God knows who the child is. Many people have found that naming ‘their child’ helps to keep them focused on the reality that their prayers are helping to save a particular boy or girl from abortion.
