VIRTUS Training
The Archdiocese of Atlanta proudly offers Safe Environment training materials to all schools and parishes. VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children (commonly referred to as “Virtus”) is the training program offered for adults and children. We host VIRTUS trainings regularly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, for all volunteers working with children, youth, and/or vulnerable individuals.
To register for a VIRTUS training class contact Cindy.
Volunteer Safe Environment Requirements
The Archdiocese of Atlanta requires that all adult volunteers (18 years old or older) working with children, youth, and/or vulnerable individuals must complete the Safe Environment training (VIRTUS) and undergo a background screening before they're able start volunteering with Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Volunteers who are 13 years old or older should complete the Volunteer Application for Minors with their parents permission, and the School Reference for Minors form.
Home-schooled minors must provide three references (non-family members).
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Becker via e-mail at marybeckerrn@gmail.com
Reporting Abuse
In addition, volunteers must be familiar with Reporting Child Abuse Guidelines as detailed by the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
Please visit the Archdiocesan Safe Environment page for information and guidelines on reporting child abuse
